AJA Offers Unique 1080 VFR Support for the Canon XH G1S With Software Version 6.0.2 for Io HD, KONA 3 and KONA LHe
January 5, 2009
The newly introduced Canon XH G1S camcorder, with 1080i29.97 HD-SDI output, provides the necessary flagged frame data. When working with the camera in the 24F frame rate mode, the camera can be configured to output flagged frame data so that the Io HD or KONA 3/LHe can locate the frames needed for removal, resulting in native 24F video files.
AJA collaborated closely with Canon to provide this unique support. The technology was first demonstrated to the public in the Canon Inc. booth at the 2008 InterBEE tradeshow in Japan. For the demonstration, the Canon XH G1S camcorder was connected, via HD-SDI to the portable AJA capture solution, the Io HD.
"Canon is very happy to be working closely with AJA. Through our relationship, we are able to offer our professional users an enhanced workflow solution," said Yuichi Ishizuka, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon U.S.A.
“Canon continues to innovate with new camcorders that enable users of professional video products to maximize their creativity,” commented AJA president Nick Rashby. “We’re proud to be able to provide support for the Canon XH G1S camcorder, and are excited by the possibilities this affords for the production community.”
The version 6.0.2 software for the AJA Io HD, KONA 3 and KONA LHe is available for download from the AJA web site at http://www.aja.com/support/index.php.
