AJA Launches Corvid 88; Delivering Multi-Channel I/O to Developer Partners
April 7, 2014
Las Vegas, NV, NAB Conference, Booth SL2505 — AJA Video Systems today announced Corvid 88, delivering high-density multi-channel video and audio I/O via an 8-lane PCIe 2.0 card. Corvid is AJA’s family of products designed for integration into solutions offered by third-party Developer Partners including Colorfront, Codex, Quantel, Autodesk and others.
Corvid 88 is ideally suited for Development Partner applications that require multiple simultaneous input and output streams. Each of Corvid 88’s eight 3G-SDI connections can be set programmatically as either an input or output and each can support a different video format, provided all formats use the same clock timing. This allows for maximum flexibility in applications where high-density I/O is required, such as playout servers, ingest servers, channel-in-a-box systems and more. Connections can also be linked together to support Dual Link or 4K/UltraHD formats. Corvid 88 is a single slot solution, available in either low-profile or full-height PCI for factors.
Corvid 88 Features:
- 8-lane PCIe 2.0
- Up to eight independent* channels of 3G, HD, SD-SDI I/O
- Supports all 4K/UltraHD and 2K/HD/Dual-link HD/SD video formats
- 4K and UltraHD High Frame Rate (HFR) input and output support.
- 8/10-bit YCbCr and RGB frame buffer formats
- 4 independent Mixer/Keyer widgets
- 4 independent 16-ch 48kHz SDI embedded audio I/O engines
- Analog Color Black or HD Tri-Level Sync
- Available as low-profile or full-height PCI
- RS-422 available on full-height Corvid 88
- 3-year warranty
* Channels must use the same master clock. Eg, 29.97 and 59.94.
“Since launching our Corvid line, we’ve been incredibly honored by the caliber of developer partners who have chosen to integrate our technology to power their solutions,” said Nick Rashby, President, AJA Video Systems. “Corvid 88 brings even higher levels of functionality with the ability to independently ingest or playout various raster sizes on different channels, in a very compact, high-density 8-channel card.”

Corvid 88 will be available in June to Developer Partners, as well as through AJA’s worldwide network of resellers at a US MSRP of $2,795. For more information about AJA products please visit www.aja.com.
