Engineering Project Manager – Grass Valley

The Engineering Project Manager will work with the Engineering Managers and other project stakeholder departments to establish project needs, deadlines, budgets, and risk evaluation. They will manage multiple projects simultaneously, delegating work and resources in an efficient manner, communicating progress and risk to management, and ensuring that all deadlines are met. Accounting for all available information, will make timely decisions and monitor the progress of the project to keep it on schedule and aligned with company goals.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in managing electronic product development projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality electronic products on time and within budget, coordinating cross-functional teams, and driving process improvements. This role requires strong technical acumen, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Requirements:

  • Develop project plans that identify resources and budgetary needs, milestones and timelines, risks and risk mitigations.
  • Working with the Engineering Managers, delegate tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them.
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with a project.
  • Adjust schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project changes. Ensure any change is communicated to project stakeholders and key project participants.
  • Serve as main point of contact for scheduling between various departments to ensure timely and accurate information is available and disseminated.
  • Facilitate and encourage collaboration across departments to ensure projects are completed successfully.
  • Create presentations and reports to communicate project status and analyze project data.
  • Host project meetings on a regular schedule with team members and managers.
  • Provide feedback, advice, project updates and encouragement to team members to keep the team focused on the end goal.
  • Manage deadlines and push the team to ensure timeliness.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, schedules, cost estimations, and post-project evaluations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required with a preferred major of Project Management, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years in a direct Project Management or Lead role in the electronics industry.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable problem-solving project management experience and skills with at working knowledge of project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile along with best practices.
  • Must have the technical depth and breadth to understand the general electronic product development process
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage engineering teams.
  • Strong project management skills with experience using project management tools and software such as Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to delegate effectively.
  • Strong organizational, time management, listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and adept at identifying technical and operational issues and able to make sound and timely decisions to resolve issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines that may extend work hours.
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies and support management decisions and goals in a positive and professional manner.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. The base salary for this position is $92,444-127,111. This range reflects base salary only, and does not include additional compensation or benefits. Individual base pay is determined by various factors such as relevant experience, education, training and skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position.
