– 12G-SDI BNC input and output for up to 4K/UltraHD support.

– Dante network redundancy via integrated primary and secondary etherCon GigE ports.

– The ability to transmit Dante audio channels over SDI without having an external SDI source signal with two built-in signal generators.

– Compatibility with a range of Audinate software for routing and configuration choices, including Dante Controller and Dante Domain Manager.

– Initial network configuration via free AJA eMini-Setup software.

– Remote signal status and configuration via an intuitive web UI.

– A 2.2” LCD information and configuration screen with four control buttons for back, enter, up, and down.

AJA Unveils BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 Ahead of NAB 2025 (March 31, 2025)

AJA today announced BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8, the newest addition to its family of professional streaming and IP video solutions. The 1RU technology enables bi-directional conversion between SDI and a host of production codecs and formats including H.265, H.264, NDI, SRT, and much more. BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 supports a broad range of video encoding, decoding, and transcoding needs, and facilitates synchronous multi-channel streaming to help streamline the live delivery and backhaul of multiple SDI HD sources.

Featuring eight bi-directional 3G-SDI connections, BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 enhances workflow flexibility while reducing per-channel costs for a variety of applications, including live event production, remote production, multi-camera production, OTT content delivery, and beyond. National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show 2025 attendees can see a demo of the new technology April 6-9, 2025, at the Las Vegas Convention Center at the AJA Booth, SL3310.

BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 feature highlights include:

– Pure IP transcode capability expands the usage of BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 beyond SDI workflows. It enables conversion between any IP codec, such as H.265, H.264, NDI, and more with SRT or HLS encapsulation.

– 8 bi-directional 3G-SDI ports with multi-frame rate capability enable usage of 25/50 and 59.94/60 frame rates at the same time.

Bi-directional NDI-SDI conversion allows users to receive NDI (Full and HX) and decode to SDI or input SDI and encode to full NDI.  They can also integrate remote NDI and non-NDI equipment/facilities via RTP/UDP/SRT and tap directly into the NDI network for a conduit to content delivery networks (CDNs) or other delivery mechanisms.

Synchronous multi-channel/multi-system transport supports the backhaul of multiple SDI sources, which egress at the exact same time from the remote location, and with a receiving BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8, ensures the SDI outputs are aligned and genlocked. This unique timing feature also enables production switching, multi-cam recording, or other workflows where live sources are required to be timed together.

HLS input and output offer more ways to deliver content that can be provided to a CDN and consumed by multiple devices and software, including for remote screening to iOS, iPadOS, and/or tvOS.  With the capability to create multiple instances of the same output with different resolutions and bandwidths, BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 provides all the signals needed for CDNs supporting ABR ladders.

– A video preview feature provides a visual check so that operators can ensure they have the correct SDI input/content for encoding. It promotes basic confidence while providing customers who cannot “go live” to check their content with added peace of mind.

AJA BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 is coming soon through AJA’s global reseller network for $18,999 US MSRP. Learn more about the new IP video solution in our latest announcement, and check it out in-person at NAB 2025 April 4-6 at the AJA Booth, SL3310.

AJA Collaborates with AWS on Virtual KONA Tech Preview (September 12, 2024)

AJA is previewing exciting new virtualized video capture/playback technology at IBC this week, which it developed in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Dubbed Virtual KONA, the solution integrates AJA’s NTV2 SDK with AWS Cloud Digital Interface (CDI), a network technology for transporting high-quality, uncompressed video inside the AWS cloud with high reliability and low latency. Combined, the technologies break down the barriers between on-premises and cloud for media production. AJA SDK Developer Partners can leverage Virtual KONA to build solutions across both environments for applications spanning broadcast through live streaming, post, and beyond.

Virtual KONA and the AJA SDK provide a direct plugin to AWS CDI so any software application that supports KONA can connect to the cloud for I/O. It eliminates the need for developers to code an integration from scratch while offering all the same media and metadata capabilities that AJA’s line of audio and video I/O cards are known for, but in a virtual environment. Applications that leverage the integration will be able to seamlessly input/output uncompressed, high resolution, high dynamic range (HDR) video between the cloud and local workstations located nearly anywhere in the world to support visual effects, color correction, editorial, broadcast graphics and playout, streaming, and other needs.

Find out more about the tech preview in our latest announcement, and if you’re headed to IBC 2024, stop by the AJA Stand (7.B19) or the AWS Stand (C.590) to find out more.

AJA Extends Diskover Media Edition Capabilities (September 12, 2024)

AJA announced exciting new plugins for PixitMedia’s Ngenea data orchestration solution and Spectra Logic’s RioBroker, a media management and archiving platform, alongside software enhancements, for its AJA Diskover Media Edition data management software. Designed to streamline workflows, the new integrations and a v2.3 update give users more flexibility to work with a broader range of toolsets and data catalog with greater efficiency. They allow them to make more informed decisions about the data that lives on their local, remote, and cloud storage.

The Ngenea Data Orchestrator plugin provides direct access to the Ngenea Data Orchestrator solution within the DME UI so users can view data across their storage in DME and transfer it to the appropriate destinations using Ngenea, a secure solution for transporting data to/from globally distributed cloud, object, and tape storage, and traditional network-attached storage (NAS). The BlackPearl RioBroker plugin ensures that M&E organizations can view, access, and make more informed decisions about the content in their archives (object/tape/cloud). Both plugins are available as part of the AJA Diskover Media Edition license. Contact the AJA Diskover Media Edition Team to add and configure either, or both.

AJA Diskover Media Edition v2.3 includes an administrative upgrade that reduces the time it takes to install, configure, and administer Diskover and mitigates potential human error when working with text files, as well as expanded flexibility via a new PDF viewer that lets users display the contents of PDF files saved to their storage, without giving access to the source file hence protecting your production network. The latest v2.3 features are immediately available to AJA Diskover Media Edition users with an active license. Read more about the plugins and update here
